Engineering Intern

SUMMARY
Under the direction of senior engineering staff, the Engineering Co-op Student performs tasks associated with medical device product development, including but not limited to product design, analysis, testing, and documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Produce engineering models and drawings using SolidWorks
Perform basic engineering analyses such as stress (FEA)
Develop and execute test protocols and publish associated reports
Maintain design history files for project design work
Participate, as appropriate, in cadaver labs, surgeries and other product development related activities
Participate in design review and design transfer activities
Plan and track work activities, with support from senior engineering
Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Degree candidate (for BS or higher degree) in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
Satisfactory completion of sophomore course work (or higher)
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Excellent communication skills.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Good problem solving skills.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficiency in CAD solid modeling (SolidWorks experience strongly preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
